RESTAURANT

The Trattoria Antico Tannino, built in Sestri Levante in 2011, has been furnished with semplicity e functionality by Vittorio and Melissa. They chosen elements in dark oak and a palette of neutral colors, with an only strong tone: the turquoise for accessories and glasses.

The atmosphere is like a family living and guests can glace at the chef working in the open-plan kitchen (a true guarantee for the quality of services).

The room is equipped with sound-absorbing panels and can accomodate approximately 70 guests.

The name of the restaurant, Antico Tannino, has ancient origins: it comes from the old factory located in the square in front of the restaurant, that extracted tannin from oak and chestnut trees.
Even today the locals call this place “tannin“…
In the restaurant there is a photogallery dedicated to this memories.

The symbol with three little trees was chosen as a tribute to the past and also because it’s an omen of prosperity according to the eastern philosophy.

CHEF

The Chef Vittorio, born in 1961, started his studyings in his native city, Genoa and finished them at the Eugenio Barsanti school of Camogli. Just in Camogli he has taken the first steps as assistant cook in the restaurant of the famous Hotel Cenobio dei Dogi.

Only few years later he was Station Chef at the Hotel Imperial Palace in Santa Margherita Ligure and then, when he was only 24, became Executive Chef at Hotel Savoy in Florence.

To know and improve the art of bakery he worked in Milan as executive chef and again in Santa Margherita at the Hotel Miramare.

In 2002 Vittorio, together three friends, acquires all catering services of the Hotel Cenobio dei Dogi till 2011, when he started the Trattoria Antico Tannino.

For the top quality of its services the Restaurant was insigned of the important award Ospitalita’ Italiana 2012, the excellence certificate of Tripadvisor. Also it takes part to the program of C.C.I.A.A. of Genoa “Genova Gourmet”.


OUR MSSION

Our mission is to use only top quality ingredients: extravirgin olive oil, local vegetables, true wild fish and origins guaranteed meat.

For the best manufacture we use vacuum and blast chiller.

When the fresh product is missing we choose first quality frozen.

All bread and fresh pasta are handcrafted by us.
